People who are against homeschooling for children often point out the cons of homeschooling to those who are thinking about teaching their children at home. In addition to the child being limited when it comes to socialization, one of the cons of homeschooling is that they are only around those who have the same beliefs and value systems as them. This is often the goal of the parents, but it is doubtful that they are doing the child a favor as when they grow up and venture into the work place, they are bound to find others who do not share their same beliefs. One of the cons of homeschooling is that children tend to be more insular and less tolerant than those who have gone through the public school system.
